New Spotify version launched past April 27th. 2010, goes deeper into social features, also known as web 2.0. Such strong social components, which are applied in all business models recently, are bringing new possibilities to generate social relations on the net. Music always was a strong social aggregator!

    The Pentagon and Social Networks

    Wednesday, 5 August, 2009

Networking - Redes sociales“Young people do not read or watch traditional news nowadays. They share information on Twitter or facebook. If we’re not these networks, we won’t be able to talk about the army”. The Pentagon said that by the end of April this year. Just like the cristian religious people that travelled to Africa to “convert” people that lived happy with their thoughts, the Pentagon tryed to increase the number of american soldiers using the social networks.

Four months later, we read this: “The Pentagon believes that social networks are dangerous in terms of national security.” From now on the soldiers/marines who are working around the world, may not participate in their Twitters, Facebooks and Myspaces. There will be “justified and necessary” exceptions within this restriction will last a year.

However, knowing that you work in the army and your country is (always) at war…Who are you going to tell confidential information?

Dopplr: the social atlas (now in app store)

    Thursday, 30 July, 2009

Atlas definition is: a world geography and cartography that includes maps, climate data, population etc. When I think about an atlas it comes to me that picture of a huge book full of world maps.

Following the trend of the different social networks, by the end of may we discovered in SIME Barcelona a new one called Dopplr, when Marko Ahtisaari (its founder) presented it. This is a mixture betweek LinkedIn/Xing (because its target is professional) and TripAdvisor or similar, sites where you leave a comment about a museum, restaurant or something similar.

Dopplr helps you make more of your travels by sharing your personal and business travel plans privately with your people, shows you coincidences and you can also ad your tips to the social atlas. Since the week before the last, you can also have Dopplr in your ipod/iphone.

As always happens, there are questions that come up. As a Dopplr user, I have only a friend (because the rest of them do not know anything about it even though I sent everyone an invitation). Do they need help to attract spanish users? And what about planning a trip? How long in advance do we plan it?
